Ethan first started his racing career in karts where he competed successfully in two national championships.  Over a two year period he took twenty three podium finishes.

Following his karting career Ethan joined the Junior Saloon Car Championship (JSCC) grid in a Citroen Saxo VTR.  In addition to the race craft and car control he learnt in karting, Ethan added the ability to drive a racing car to his list of motorsport talents.  In his first season of car racing he was crowned ‘Rookie of the Year’, taking four podium finishes on his way to 4th in the overall standings.  A second season in the JSCC followed and Ethan’s pace stood out, lap record’s came at Knockhill, Croft and Rockingham.  Out of eighteen races he took sixteen podium finishes, including four race wins and 2nd in the championship.

During 2017 an invite from Renault UK was received to race in their inaugural UK Clio Cup Junior series.  After leading round one Ethan took the win in round two to set himself up for a title challenge.  He finished in 2nd place! Ethan started 26 races in 2017, 21 times a podium finisher with race wins, lap records and fastest laps in both of the race series he entered.  Ending the season as Double British vice Champion was no mean feat.

He then won the Team HARD Scholarship beating over 100 other drivers to win a season in the VW Cup.  A podium finish followed before Ethan got the call-up from the team to make his debut in the high profile BTCC aged just 17, the 3rd youngest in the sports 60-year history.

A debut season in the Renault UK Clio Cup for 2019 saw Ethan claim a win at Thruxton and another two podium finishes at Snetterton and Silverstone.  He was a regular at the front and also claimed front row starting positions.

Away from the track Ethan is studying to become a Quantity Surveyor and enjoys playing football, boxing and spending time with his friends.

Team HARD.

The Team HARD brand was created in early 2012 due to the interest and demand in Race days and corporate activities via BTCC driver, Tony Gilham.

Tony Gilham has competed in British motorsport every year since 2005 and since stepping up to the prestigious Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, interest in track experiences has quickly grown which has followed on from previous track days that the team have run over the past few years. They therefore decided that a new company should be formed in order to manage all track/motor/Race day experiences. This included a team of Volkswagen Racing cup drivers, a Volkswagen Racing scholarship, VAG trophy, Ginetta Supercup, BTCC and Britcar. In December 2013, Team HARD Racing Limited was born.

Since then, the team has grown, to what it is now, a successful race team that manages in excess of 20 drivers, many whom have won races and in 2016 in the first year of entering, the team won the prestigious British GT 4 championship and continues to go from strength to strength.

Ethan will race in the 2020 Mini Challenge.
